Wicker restoration

An example of a spot restoration of a broken area in a hand caned chair. It is recommended in most cases where there is a small area of damage to the back or side panels of the cane pattern, to restore in this manner. It is not recommended to be accomplished in the seat, where the seat must hold the weight of a person. However, this particular chair was not going to be used on a regular basis.

French blind hole caning: an example of a restoration leaving as much of the original Cane as possible and restoring only the broken areas. Then staining to match, so you would never know it was ever broken.

An example of a Rattan weave restoration. We have the talent to reproduce any pattern required. Stain is then blended in to the new material to match the color of the existing unbroken Rattan.

Wicker Restoration: The article of work must be structurally sound prior to weaving. Often the skeleton of the piece has experienced some damage which made the wicker come apart. The warp and the weft are replaced in the broken areas after the structure is sound, and blended in with the existing material. Once stain or paint has been added, you will never know it was ever broken.

Your chair may have a combination of different materials. The back of this rocker is woven with Rattan, and the seat is a Splitwood weave.

Wicker restoration has many varied aspects, and sometimes you feel that it's not repairable. However, I have decades of expertise in handling all kinds of problems and can bring your peace back to life.

This star or snowflake pattern is complicated; however, extremely worthy of restoring. Any pattern that you may have will be reproduced to perfection.

A typical hand caned rocker, both the back and seat.

Wicker restoration of this Captains chair, or also called a Peacock chair. There are many different areas and different types of materials used in this wicker restoration.

This particular seat is most unusual, it is a rope woven pattern. In the past 50 years, I may have only had three of these chairs with this particular pattern.
